Somalia Participates in the Global Growth Forum in Rabat to Strengthen Economic Cooperation and Attract Investment
Rabat – 6 Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 AH, corresponding to May 23, 2026 – Somalia’s Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, His Excellency Mahmoud Abdullah Ahmed, took part in the activities of the Global Growth Forum held in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, organized by the Amadeus Institute under the theme: “Reshaping Growth: Turning Uncertainty into Opportunity.”
The forum is considered one of the leading international economic platforms, bringing together more than 100 senior officials and over 1,000 participants from more than 50 countries, including government representatives, sovereign wealth funds, investors, and international economic experts.
The discussions focus on five main pillars: economic sovereignty, investment restructuring, global supply chains, energy transition, and Morocco’s role as a regional hub for trust and investment, reinforcing its position as an international platform for economic dialogue.
During his participation, the Somali Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry emphasized that Somalia attaches great importance to strengthening international economic cooperation and attracting foreign investment to support economic growth and enhance stability at both national and regional levels.
He added that this participation comes as part of Somalia’s ongoing efforts to expand economic partnerships and engage with successful international experiences, in support of sustainable development plans and broader regional and global cooperation.
