Somalia and Türkiye Discuss Expanding Education and Youth Opportunities

Somalia’s Minister of Education and Higher Education, Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir, held talks with Abdulhadi Turus, President of Türkiye’s Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), during his official visit to Türkiye.

The meeting focused on ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation between Somalia and Türkiye, with particular attention to the education sector.

The two sides discussed opportunities to broaden educational cooperation, develop skills and create greater opportunities for Somali youth. The discussions also highlighted the importance of investing in education and capacity building as part of efforts to support young people and strengthen future prospects.

The meeting reflects the ongoing cooperation between Somalia and Türkiye in areas related to education, youth development and human capacity building, while exploring further opportunities for collaboration in the coming period.
